Civilian Divorce
Sometimes, divorce is an ugly, grueling process that takes a large financial and emotional toll on the parties. Sometimes it is not. No matter which way your civilian divorce goes, Phillips Legal LLC is here to advise, guide and zealously represent those clients on issues of Fault, Alimony, Equitable Distribution of Property, Child Custody, Child Support and all the other facets of ending of the marriage.
In Alabama, the Collaborative Divorce process starts with an agreement between the spouses that they intend to resolve issues of the divorce as amicably as possible through cooperation and negotiation. This process allows the divorcing spouses the opportunity communicate effectively to resolve issues such as property division, child custody and support through a less adversarial process. This is wonderful opportunity for parties to dissolve the marriage with as little drama as possible.
Should the parties be unable to resolve issues in the divorce through collaberation, they still have the option to go to Court and proceed with adversarial proceedings. However, they will need to obtain new counsel.
